New Moon in Cancer,July 2026 | Lunar Notes
Lunar Note: July 14: New Moon 2:44 AM PDT (22º Cancer)
An Image
Enclosed within the soft, elegant form of a white calla lily, her skin is soothed by the cool tenderness of its petals. It is a divine sensation—her body rediscovering itself within the shape of this kind, upright friend and guide.
Her hands reach toward the morning light. For a fleeting moment, all of her longings come into view. But as she turns inward, the lily abruptly opens, gently disrobing her, as if to tease.
Suddenly she is standing tall, naked, and alone beneath a sky flickering between day and night. She has forgotten everything.
Everything except the stillness she shares with the lily, the warmth of the air, and the softness of its protection.
Perhaps it is my soul, she muses.
The sky continues to flicker between day and night. She is held by nothing but the calla lily, which does not speak.

The Cancer New Moon calls on us to nourish our deepest and most intimate selves. In this way, we may come to realize the potentially transformative opportunities that await us during this lunar cycle. We are invited to be with our hearts, simply and without elaboration. Allow intuition and deep knowing to be your guide. Letting go has never been so easy.
This Cancer New Moon opens what many astrologers consider one of the most significant astrological windows of the decade. Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all align around 5° of their respective signs, forming the rare Barbault Basket—a harmonious configuration associated with breakthroughs, inspired vision, and profound collective transformation. Between July 15 and July 24, Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, and Pluto perfect a remarkable series of aspects supporting innovation, spiritual insight, creative expansion, and deep collective change. As the week unfolds, Mercury stations direct on July 23, bringing greater clarity and forward movement, before Saturn stations retrograde on July 26, inviting us to slow down, integrate what has emerged, and recommit to what truly matters. On the same day, the Lunar Nodes shift into Aquarius and Leo, marking the beginning of a new collective chapter.
Don't let all of that distract you.

Reflection
Lately, it has seemed that every month brings another major astrological breakthrough. But this New Moon... does something feel different? What do you sense?
Personally, there is the sense of walking into a new dimension. It's like an instantaneous elevator, but the destination is unknown. This New Moon, we are at once coming home to ourselves and leaving ourselves as we have known them altogether. All of the secret wishes we have made in silence are awakening to new light, like the closed eyes of a newborn kitten, still unable to make out what it is.
Still, between July 15 and 21, the rare sequence of planetary alignments reaches its peak. Many astrologers see this as a window for breakthrough—when new ideas, new ways of relating, and new possibilities emerge more readily than usual. Whether those possibilities become lasting change depends on how we choose to meet them, and perhaps more importantly, what we notice and pay attention to.
Once Mercury stations direct on July 23, we can look forward again. Then, on July 26, Saturn stations retrograde, slowing everything down. We are asked to take our new lives seriously and to revisit what we have outgrown—but continue to hold.
This Cancer New Moon beckons us home to our hearts. The path we seed now may give birth to long-awaited dreams. Now is the time to remember what you truly love.
Contemplate feminine surrender.
Here, we find wings. As the Lunar Nodes enter Aquarius and Leo on July 26, another chapter begins. Our vision and aspirations will begin to make themselves known.
Questions from the Heart
What does it mean for you to listen to your heart—to be with it gently, just as it is, without needing to explain or elaborate?
Is your emotional or soulful cup full? If not, what truly nourishes you? How can you fill it?
What happens if you surrender completely to being and breathing? Call tenderness all around you.
If you didn't have to decide anything today, what messages, feelings, or quiet knowing would appear without thinking? Continue to be open to them as this lunar cycle unfolds.
Where is your instantaneous elevator on the way to? Are your eyes open or closed?
Closing Note
This New Moon asks something of us beyond time—and that is being. Taking refuge in our sensations and trusting our inner knowing. The more we allow, the more information will come through.
We are not separate from one another, the Earth, or even from that which we long for. As the heart awakens, we begin to recognize our interconnectedness and our continual inter-being with those we know and love, and those we don't.
May this New Moon guide you gently home—to a gentle awareness, an expansive and spacious knowing, a home that is always there.
