Full Moon in Capricorn, June 2026 | Lunar Notes
Lunar Note: June 29: Full Moon 4:56 pm PDT (9º Capricorn-Cancer)
An Image
In the distance, a small fire burns atop a hill.
A few people gather around it, their bodies little more than silhouettes, mostly still and somewhat reverent. Slowly, they give fuel to the flames while the darkening sky fills with a glowing haze.
As the flames become immense, jewels, creatures, forgotten fears, and romantic visions emerge. They rise with the smoke into the night, glowing. The people watch the fire and their dreams in wonder, solemn but joyful observance.
By dawn, the fire is embers, and all that remains are lavender flowers and the sound of mournful tears of joy and grief that cleanse the earth and make it fertile.
The Moon
Full Moon Transits:
June 14 — Mercury stations retrograde (10:35 AM PDT, 27º Cancer); Full Moon (4:56 PM PDT, 9º Capricorn–Cancer); Mars squares the Lunar Nodes (1º Gemini–Pisces–Virgo); Jupiter enters Leo
July 4 —Mars conjunct Uranus (4º Gemini)
July 7 — Neptune stations retrograde (5º Aries)
Every Full Moon marks a culmination. If the New Moon initiates a cycle of becoming, the Full Moon expands light in every direction, illuminating what has occurred and providing the light to integrate all that has emerged. In the spirit of Jung's individuation, whose gaze rests not on perfection but wholeness, so too does this Capricorn Moon illuminate our personal responsibility—not only for the fullness of ourselves, our relationships, and our becoming—but for the worlds we build and manifest.
This Full Moon is amplified by several significant transits. Mercury stations retrograde only hours before the lunation, encouraging a reflective, emotionally motivated, and nonlinear process of listening and understanding through July 23rd. Saturn and Neptune square the Full Moon from Aries, inviting us to bring together responsibility and spirit, practical reality and heartfelt vision. Mars' square to the Lunar Nodes and conjunction with Uranus in the days ahead may bring extraordinary insight, uncertainty, and unexpected unfoldings.
Jupiter's ingress into Leo occurs beneath the light of this Capricorn Full Moon, carrying its themes into the coming year. Confidence, creativity, warmth, and wholehearted self-expression unfold in collaboration with responsibility, integrity, and purpose.
The remainder of this lunar cycle unfolds under Neptune's retrograde, beginning July 7th and initiating a longer season of spiritual introspection through the remainder of the year. As the pace of change accelerates around us, this Capricorn Full Moon asks us to integrate what has been illuminated before the next chapter begins.
Reflections
The Full Moon illuminates the earth in its majesty and also its vulnerabilities.
As it expands light in every direction, we are invited to see more fully—not only the world around us, but the inner landscapes from which that world is continually being created.
It is important that we heed both poles of the Capricorn–Cancer axis: the traditional father and mother archetypes, or perhaps more fundamentally, the masculine and feminine poles within. Capricorn reminds us of responsibility, boundaries, stewardship, and what we are building. Cancer reminds us to nourish and protect feeling, belonging, and heart.
So much of what happens on the world stage is the playing out of the disregarded parts of ourselves that we do not hold. May we do our part to heed those inner voices—the king, the yogi, the queen, and that which we reject. This Full Moon's square to Saturn and Neptune in Aries presses us to welcome and parent that which is tender, vulnerable, and uncertain—with bold confidence in our personal vision, responsibility, and dreams.
What are we committed to building?
Who will it nourish?
In the spirit of Jung's individuation, the gaze is not on perfection but wholeness. Our astrological charts reveal a path toward becoming responsible for all that we are—and, in the spirit of Jupiter's ingress into Leo, celebrating it. What we imagine now may have more power than we we realize. Do not be shy to take a stand, to perform, and to build toward the heaven on this earth that you see.
Questions from the Heart
What are we committed to building? Does this vision nourish connection, heart, and belonging?
Where can you be more bold, brave, and embracing of the totality of your inner landscape? Can you offer others that same generosity and light?
What can you offer into the flames as both an offering and a symbol of transformation for the chapter ahead?
Closing Note
More than anything, confidence and celebration emerge in the sky above the flames. The Capricorn Full Moon invites us into a passionate and ultimately compassionate reckoning with the night.
